MICHELLE TAYLOR

With a career that has spanned over thirty years, Michelle made history as the first woman in the music industry to head the jazz division of a major record label. In the Senior Director of Atlantic Jazz position, she oversaw marketing, artist development, promotion, sales, A&R, and publicity activities. Working with artists Regina Carter, Gerald Albright, Cyrus Chestnut, and James Carter, to name a few. Before holding this position, Michelle was the director of marketing and promotion for RCA Records' Novus and Bluebird label. She helped launch the careers of artists Roy Hargrove, Marcus Roberts, John Pizzarelli and Vanessa Rubin. She was subsequently promoted to director of artist development for RCA's Black Music Division and was directly involved with the career development of female vocal trio SWV, Martha Wash, and hip-hop royalty, The Wu-Tang Clan.

As Founder and Managing Director of Passion Music Group, Michelle's list of current and former corporate clients includes the Institute of Jazz Studies, Rutgers University, Newark, You Global Entertainment, The Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, and Motema Music. PMG's current talent roster includes pianist/organist Matthew Whitaker, vocalists Vanessa Rubin, G. Thomas Allen, and Darius de Haas, radio and television personality Keanna Faircloth, and dynamic string trio, The String Queens. 

Michelle serves as Co-Chair of the Jazz Advisory Committee for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), Newark, NJ.
